Open Table – an Inspiration to Impact Partnership

Inspiration: This pantry and meal program began in 1986 when two women placed an ad in the local Concord newspaper inviting all citizens to meet and tackle food insecurity in their area.  Those who attended organized a 100-person dinner free for anyone who needed a hot meal.

Impact: Open Table has grown significantly and has served over 500,000 dinners. They offer a variety of healthy and culturally appropriate groceries and prepared meals. The Foundation for MetroWest has invested more than $163,000 into the organization, supporting it as it grew from a concept into the well-known entity that it is today.
