After 34 years as an investigative reporter, news anchor, and consumer advocate for WCVB-TV Channel 5, the legendary Susan Wornick bid her viewers goodbye as she stepped down from the anchor chair in March of 2014. Susan’s legacy and commitment to help young aspiring journalists will live on through the Susan Wornick Journalism Scholarship Fund at the Foundation for MetroWest.
“Susan has had an extraordinary career, and is an inspiration to so many,” said Bill Fine, WCVB President and General Manger. “Always very proud of her Natick roots, it comes as no surprise that Susan wanted to find a special way to give back to her hometown. The Susan Wornick Journalism Scholarship Fund honors Susan’s legacy at her alma mater, Natick High, and we hope others will step up with donations to assist budding journalists who follow in Susan’s footsteps,” continued Fine.
Foundation for MetroWest Executive Director Judy Salerno added, “Susan is known for her tireless work in the community, dedicating her time and resources enabling MetroWest nonprofits to further their mission. This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone who has benefited from her extraordinary generosity to thank her for all that she has done to strengthen MetroWest.
