Sudbury Community Food Pantry Receives Grant

Foundation for MetroWest collaborates with the Sudbury Community Food Pantry to address hunger issues

The Sudbury Community Food Pantry (SCFP) has received a $4,500 grant from the Foundation for MetroWest. The grant will be used to purchase food and personal care products for individuals and families served by the SCFP.

During the past year, the SCFP, served 911 families and 2,691 family members from over 50 surrounding cities and towns providing 19,096 shopping bags of food and personal care items. The SCFP is 100% operated by volunteers with no paid staff.

Established in 1995, the Foundation for MetroWest serves 33 cities and towns in the region, promoting philanthropy, helping donors maximize the impact of their local giving and enhancing the quality of life for all. Since inception, the Foundation has granted $15 million to charitable organizations and currently stewards more than $22 million in charitable assets for current needs and future impact. SCPF is located at Our Lady of Fatima Parish at 160 Concord Road in Sudbury, which has hosted the Pantry since its inception in 1990.
