- Information Foundation for MetroWest collects:
We use Google Analytics, Google AdWords conversion tracking, and Google Content Experiments to assess its website’s performance and content. This involves the use of “cookies,” or simple text files stored by a visitor’s web browser, to collect anonymous data about visitors to and usage of Foundation for MetroWest’s website. This information, which is not associated with a visitor’s personal identity, pages viewed, date and time of visit, browser/technology type, geographic region, and marketing attributes as defined by Google. To provide website visitors more choice on how their data is collected by Google Analytics, Google has developed an Opt-out Browser add-on, which is available by visiting Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Foundation for MetroWest may add information from publicly available sources including data from, for example, reputable newspapers, or Social Media sites like LinkedIn or Twitter, to your file. This is done in order to manage our communication effectively and to give you the best experience by tailoring our communication according to your interests.
A “cookie” is a tiny element of data that our site can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your computer’s hard drive.
How will Foundation for MetroWest use the information I provide?
Whenever we ask you to provide personal information via this website or in an e-mail, we will make reasonable efforts to make the purpose of that request clear. If you do not want this information to be collected or used by Foundation for MetroWest, you can simply choose not to provide that information or otherwise “opt out” of the action or request for information. Under certain circumstances, opting out may prevent your participation in activities for which personal information is needed, such as involvement in distribution of publications, action alerts, notices of volunteer opportunities, supporter benefits, community events, etc. We make every effort to insure the secure collection and transmission of sensitive user information using industry accepted data collection and encryption methodologies.
We will not sell, share or trade our donors’ names or personal information with any other entity, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations. This policy applies to all information received by Foundation for MetroWest, both online and offline, on any Platform (“Platform”, includes the Foundation for MetroWest website and mobile applications), as well as any electronic, written, or oral communications.
How do I know my credit card information is secure?
Foundation for MetroWest uses secure server software (SSL) that is the industry standard and is among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name and address, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet.
Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, your bank cannot hold you liable for more than $50.00 of fraudulent charges. In the event of an unauthorized charge to your credit card you must:
- write to the creditor at the address given for “billing inquiries,” not the address for sending your payments, and include your name, address, account number and a description of the billing error
- send your letter so that it reaches the creditor within 60 days after the first bill containing the error was mailed to you.
